The teacher organizes a safe, accessible, and efficient classroom.
In Austin Independent School District, there are hybrid classrooms due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both students in-person and online can find their daily lessons online through BLEND. Students will access select their math BLEND classroom tile. I have included a video below of what students see on BLEND. In the video, students will open the homepage upon clicking on their math BLEND tile. All the most important links (zoom links, daily attendance checks, weekly playlist, course modules, and technology help) are all settled on this page (0:00-0:30).
Every day, students are expected to log on during class time, click on the zoom link button, and join us for class via zoom (0:30-0:50).
Each week there is a weekly Playlist page. This page gives an overview of the week. It includes the objective(s) of the week, introductory video, and daily work. Students follow the routine of doing a warm-up, watching the introductory video, and weekly activity (0:51-1:14).
The module page is updated every week with the weekly lesson plan. I collaborate with three other math teachers on what the module pages should include. Students clicked through each page and completed a graded assignment for each week.
Each weekly lesson has a specific emoji to differentiate the lessons. The titles with the due dates are the graded assignment(s) for the week. Students will be able to preview the lesson plan and find the correct page more easily (1:15-1:35).
