The teacher formally and informally collects, analyzes and uses student progress data and makes needed lesson adjustments.
Students the previous week had learned about the volume of cones and cylinders. However, some students had expressed to my mentor teacher how stressed they felt about schoolwork. Students also expressed confusion about the material. My mentor teacher addressed the situation by adjusting the lesson plan; instead of going on to the next lesson, we had a review day. My mentor teacher decided to create a review day where students would choose the breakout room they needed to practice. Once in the breakout room, students would work individually or as a group to work together on their digital notebook. Once students had felt confident in their work, they could move to a different breakout room.
I had led the breakout room for the volume of cylinders. During one period, I had ten students come to work with me. We reviewed the first two problems in their digital notebook as a group; I invited students to practice solving the last two problems. Students could privately message me to check their answers. At the end of the session, I gave students virtual high fives for their effort and work today. The next time students did this activity, more students felt confident in their work, the information needed to use the formula, and how to plug it into Desmos.

These are the slides the students could access. Students will click the link above the door of where they need to go. The link would take them to an anchor of support slide or guided notes. The students could use the guided notes to practice solving their problems. The slides had a link to a video and calculator to check their answer.
